It may be summer, but it’s also election season. Though the conventions are nearly over, there’s still a ways to go until November, and while we may have to wait until then to vote, we don’t have to wait to rank our top five favorite American political films. So we didn’t! We do it in Episode 4. Some of the stories are fabricated, but some are based on facts, and truth is often stranger than fiction.   1. Great choices, with a couple that would be top for me such as The American President and Dave. Mr. Smith would be in my top five, however, if only for the filibuster scene, but I LOVE that movie! Two other movies come to mind for me: Frank Capra’s State of the Union with Spencer Tracy, Katherine Hepburn, AND… extra added attraction, Angela Lansbury as the villain; and more recently, All the Way on HBO, which was a great reminder LBJ’s greatness, and his contributions to history, which tends to get lost in in the Vietnam debacle. Oh… one more recent HBO, which may not count, Confirmation. Keep it up guys!
