Even on the heels of the Golden Globes celebrating TV and film, we are heading back to Broadway in this episode. We kick off the opening of 2018 with an episode on…opening numbers! We rank our top five favorites and you might actually be surprised by both of our number ones! Take a listen and let us know your favorite opening numbers in the comments section or on Twitter at @rankophiles.

Can you believe it’s December already? We can’t either. Yeah yeah, so it’s a been a while since we posted an episode. Still, what better time than now? It’s like an early Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanzaa gift for you all. So here’s Episode 26: our top five favorite New York movies. You know those flicks where New York is so part of them that it’s like a character in the film? That’s what this list is about. Let us know your favorite New York movies in the comments section or on Twitter at @rankophiles.

It’s another “very special episode” of Rankophiles. This week Michael says “I’m out!” and takes a break while Bryan invites an expert friend to join the fun. We welcome a special guest – the amazing and awesome Richard Seroter – to discuss a favorite TV show of his (and Bryan’s). Yada yada yada. We’re talking about Seinfeld of course! Bryan and Richard rank their top five favorite catchphrases and characters from the legendary television series. Nine seasons of gloriously brilliant comedy to choose from. What Seinfeld stuff do you love? Let us know in the comments section or on Twitter at @rankophiles.

It’s that time of year! School is back in session, and we’re back with a Episode 24 ranking our top five favorite movies that take place in or around any school – elementary, middle, high school, even college. Maybe it was an influential teacher, a troublemaker kid, or the stern principal that made the movie. We talk about all of them here. You can too! What school movies do you love? Let us know in the comments section or on Twitter at @rankophiles.

Is this the greatest season of Game of Thrones yet? The correct answer is “yes” – so we just had to do another GoT-themed list. We return to Westeros to rank our top five favorite GoT character pairings. Like wine with cheese or peanut butter with jelly, we mix the incredible Game of Thrones ingredients together and list the best teamups the HBO saga has seen so far. BEWARE: THERE WILL BE SPOILERS! The possibilities are practically endless. What pairings are your favorites? Let us know in the comments section or on Twitter at @rankophiles.

Okay, okay – so we’re a little late to the Tonys party. We recorded this one before the awards ceremony, but we knew that the tear-inducing “Dear Evan Hansen” would be the big winner of the night – and it was. So to celebrate, we invited one of our wives back on to help us rank the saddest songs ever to grace the Broadway stage. We’re sorry it took us a while to finally post it, but it’s our podcast and we can cry if we want to. Break out your box of tissues and let us know which Broadway tunes left you crying! Tell us in the comments section or tweet us at @rankophiles.

After a brief hiatus, we’re back with Episode 21, and it’s a doozy. We think it’s our toughest list yet – maybe that’s why it took so long for us to record it. We rank our top five favorite Beatles songs from their list of over 200 original compositions. It’s a tremendous task comparing the different song types and eras from the Fab Four’s fantastic library. No two lists will ever be the same with this topic! Let us know your favorites in the comments section or tweet us at @rankophiles.

We’ve made it to 20 episodes, so it’s high time we introduce you to our better halves. Our lovely wives, Alison and Alison, join us for this episode as we dive back into the world of musical theatre and rank our top five favorite male-female duets from a musical. With marriage you can usually expect aggressive agreement, but not when it comes to ranking, and especially not when it comes to musical theatre. Four very different lists emerge, but even still there’s room for more suggestions. Let us know your favorites in the comments section or tweet us at @rankophiles.

With the release of Disney’s live action version of Beauty and the Beast and LeFou’s stint in the news, we rank our top five favorite Disney sidekicks in our first impromptu episode of Rankophiles. Along the way, we honor some fantastic voice talent, sing some of the iconic sidekick melodies, and lament the lack of female sidekick options. There are so many great choices here, so please share yours in the comments section or tweet us at @rankophiles.

It’s a “very special episode” of Rankophiles this week as we welcome our friends Justin and Krissy from one of our top five favorite podcasts, “So I Married a Movie Geek.” Michael celebrated his birthday just a couple weeks ago, so we thought we’d change it up a bit and make not one, not two, but FOUR different lists — we each rank our top five favorite movies from the year we were born. Justin ranks films from 1980, Bryan from 1981, Krissy from 1983, and Michael from 1984. That’s a lot of classic (and not so classic?) early 80s cinema. I guess we’re missing 1982 though, so share your favorite early 80s films with us in the comments section or tweet us at @rankophiles.
